Odd Thomas

I've just started to read the fourth book in the series, Odd Hour. I just love this series and recommend it to everyone. I'm also reading A Salty Piece of Land by Jimmy Buffet. Yes reading two books can get confusing but it keeps things interesting.

Re: Odd Thomas

I love Odd Thomas, too. I just finished Odd Hours...couldn't put it down. Odd is one of the best characters around. I'm pretty sad, now...Dean better write another...soon.

Re: Odd Thomas

Ok, I'm finished the book and I'm like "what the hay?"

1. Who is Annamarie?

2. Is Boo that little girl's dog in Brother Odd who was a vegetable?

3. Who was in the porch swing?

4. What was in the sewer?

5. Does any of this have to do with the black room in Forever Odd?

6. Since when does Odd travel with other people?

7. What is the significance of Raphael?

I just assumed that all would be answered in the next book. I think that Annamarie must be some sort of Angelic being. The child she's carrying is very important. I can't presume to say what I'm thinking, though. It may be too much speculation on my part.

Boo is the dog Odd met at the Monastery in Forever Odd. Odd first saw him there...we didn't know he was a ghost dog until Odd found his grave later in the book.

I think the "Evil One" was in the porch swing. Or perhaps a minion of the devil? Same with the sewer...a glimpse of Hades? It could have some connection to The Black Room. Another portal to the otherside? The not so nice otherside...

As for Odd travelling with other people...again, I think we'll see a continuation of the story in the next book. This is just a beginning? An epic story of Good against Evil and I believe that Annamarie is the representative of all that is good and pure.

Oh, and Raphael? The significance could be that Odd chose to name the dog after and Archangel...interesting that Raphael is "God's healing" angel. Maybe he'll be there later on just when Odd needs him.

I was hooked forever. I cried, too. Stormy! I never thought I'd love Dean Koontz as much as this. Odd is one of my all time favorites.

I know where Boo came from and he is a ghost dog. Remember that little girl's dog got killed when it tried to protect her from her rapist cousin (?) after he had murdered her parents. I just wonder if Boo was her dog and that is why he (Boo) was at the Monastery. (That was brother Odd, not Forever Odd.)
