I didn't know what exactly to put for you. Tell me and that's what I will add, unless you want your name totally stricken form the list.

I know shouldn't try to speak for Viras, but my guess is Viras should be labeled as "someone who doesn't like to be labeled". ;)

Why, thank you. Just been really busy. Kid's insulin pump is out of warranty, so I need to do some research to find out which one we want to get next. We'll be stuck with it for 4 years. (That's how long the warranties are), so it's an important decision. Other stuff going on too.

Anyway, shockingly no, not really Baptist. Though I did hang out with a Southern Baptist group on campus while I was in college. As far as I know, the Baptists don't have any beliefs I'm particularly uncomfortable with. Just sent a PM to Mrs. Douglas, so whenever she gets around to it, my affiliation should appear on the list. Anyway, as I stated in my PM, my core beliefs can basically be summed up by the Apostle's Creed. Are you familiar with it? Not sure whether Baptists recite it or not. Anyway, my background is in and I currently belong to the Covenant church. Heard of it? It's a rather small denomination and not well known.

Hi BSC, We've spoken before, a while ago though. I hopw your son is doing well.
I have heard of the Covenant, but do not know much about it. Speaking for myself I would like to hear more, especially if it is based on the Apostles or Nicene Creed. I thought that was almost purely a catholic prayer.

Hi, LadyEmm. Thanks, my son's diabetes has always been especially difficult to control though, weirdly, it's been better since he was diagnosed with a second autoimmune endocrine condition about a year ago.

While I was growing up in the Covenant church we recited the Apostle's Creed quite often. So much so that I had it memorized long before I was required to in confirmation class. We also recited the Nicene creed though considerably less often. Both creeds appear in the back of our hymnal. Sadly the local church I currently belong to rarely recites the creeds anymore. I plan to teach them to my kids because, IMO, both creeds are excellent summaries of the Christian faith. There is a saying in the Covenant Church: "Where is it written?" which essentially means that we use the Bible as the basis for our beliefs and we focus on what unites us rather than what divides us. Hence, we are okay with both infant and believer baptisms, sprinkling or immersion, etc. You can find more info here: http://www.covchurch.org/affirmations
