Post Your Fave Raves

As much as I post about beer, food and the occasional woman, I'd give it all up for music. I really love music. What are you all listening to? You don't have to love it enough to marry it. What is good enough to hit the repeat button twice?

I'll go first. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JQ8yF04y9o

I'm actually in PJ Harvey mode now. Her song "Man Size" has been blocked for copyright reasons. So let's switch to Irish stuff. I'm an Anglo-Irish song geek. This is a Pogues original that whirls around my brain every day or so.

Well...even as we speak...I'm listening to The Medieval Babes : Mistletoe and Wine

In the car? I've been kinda stuck on some Squirrel Nut Zippers...

SNZ? Ever heard any Louis Jordan? He was the king of Jump. Then there was Loius Prima. He was very Vegas but very jumpy. (Jungle Book's King of the Apes). Without these cats, rock wouldn't have happened.

Re: Post Your Fave Raves

I absolutely HAVE heard them...both. Let the Good Times Roll is so fun AND Louis Prima is an all time favorite. Speaking of Louis Prima, the last time my daughter visited, she was looking through my cd case on the way to the bus back to Boston, and she took my Benny Goodman, Louis Prima, AND Talking Heads cds. I swear to God, if she loses them...

oh, and...years ago, when I was listening to Louis Prima one day, she came into the room and said, "Hey, he sounds like King Louis!" I was so proud.

Thank goodness, because three girls living in a room the size of a broom closet and "taking care of your Mother's stuff", don't mix.

Re: Post Your Fave Raves

I got the kids listening to some old school awesome Christmas music. The bestness of Christmas.

Can I tell you what I'm hating? Josh Groban. HATE. Hot and long lasting. I go into a diabetic coma listening to him. WWHHHHYYYYYYY!
I don't get it. I want him to stop.

I've been all up in Brandi Carlisle's grill lately. Mmmmm, good stuff.

Louis Prima! Love. You guys ever watch Chocolat? SNZ.

Chocolat? Johnny? Yes...I've watched it. More than I care to admit.

Part of my affection for that movie is the soundtrack. I really like movie soundtracks. Like Pride and Prejudice. The Ghost and the Darkness has a fabulous soundtrack.
